About

This is us.

Neumatikos is the weblog of Kyle and Valerie French. Valerie is the really pretty one on the left who looks so happy. She just married the guy, so she don’t know no better.

Kyle is a seminary student at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, where he is working on his Masters of Divinity degree and is thinkin of also getting his Masters in Theology after the MDiv. He keeps pet theories and plays the guitar. (Valerie says – watch out for those pet theories..sometimes they bite…)

Valerie has recently completed her Masters in Public Heath at Boston University’s School of Public Health, where she concentrated in Maternal and Child Health. She is currently working at Bradford Christian Academy as a middle and high school science teacher. Teaching five classes keeps her pretty busy but she is looking for work that will help her pay down massive ammounts of debt.

She is seriously considering looking for work positions in a patient’s relations department or with community-based programming for mother’s with young infants but is open to anything that will get her debt paid down, food to eat and a place to live. Long term, she want to have lots of children and is looking towards a possible degree in nurse midwifery. She likes to talk about the mundane/daily stuff that Kyle seems to avoid at all costs and nerdy science stuff. She also likes to post pictures.

This website was originally started so Kyle could have a place to show off poetry and short stories, and stuff. Then he discovered blogging. shudder.

Valerie joined on in November 2004 because Wordpress is sooo much cooler than Xanga. (Plus that Kyle is way cute!) Actually, Valerie joined because she didn’t want to pay for premium at Xanga for putting pictures on her website.

Kyle and Valerie are expecting thier first child in February and are excited to jump on the Parenthood bandwagon.

Hi Kyle….I read your post over at Challies and saw that you go to Gordon Conwell. I have a young friend who just arrived there after Katrina. He has ordered me Dr. Kaiser’s new Bible and I’m excited to get it. His parents are going up and bringing it back next week? Are you familiar with it? My son and I have a “thing” about new Bibles. We tease each other asking if we’ve learned everything from our old ones.

Also, we heard that Dr. Kaiser is very ill.

Are you talking about the Archaeology Bible? It’s brand new, so I haven’t gotten a chance to look at it. The translation is supposed to be just plain ol’ NIV, so nothing “new” there. But the Archaeology part looks pretty good. I’m planning on getting one on a student discount eventually…

Dr. Kaiser is ill, but I haven’t heard any details other than that he’s had to pull out of his classes this last semester that he’s supposed to be teaching before he retires.
